NFL Coaching Changes – Dave Canales Signed with Carolina, Raheem Morris with Atlanta
Several NFL coaching changes happened this week. However, to the surprise of many football fans, Bill Belichick is out of the picture. The Atlanta Falcons signed Raheem Morris. In addition, the Carolina Panthers hired Dave Canales to be their next head coach.
Morris has three seasons as defensive coordinator under Sean McVay with the Los Angeles Rams, winning Super Bowl LVI with the team. He joins Atlanta from that position. He has been a head coach with the Falcons for 21 years and has extensive expertise on both sides of the ball in the NFL.
According to BookiePayPerHead.net sources, Morris was a Tampa Bay Buccaneers staff member from 2002 to 2005. He returned to the team in 2007. In 2009, he became the head coach, a position that lasted for three seasons. However, the team sacked in 2012 and became Washington’s defensive back coach.
The Falcons’ decision to recruit Morris is surprising because many predicted they would sign famous coach Bill Belichick. Two interviews were conducted with the 72-year-old, six-time Super Bowl champion, but the Falcons decided to go with Morris differently. He left the New England Patriots earlier this month after 24 seasons. The disappearance of viable landing locations raises the prospect that Belichick may not be seen coaching in the 2024 NFL season.
NFL Coaching Changes
Panthers head coach Dave Canales was revealed Thursday by the organization. Canales was the offensive coordinator for Tampa Bay for the 2023 season. The Panthers have reported that Canales would join an exclusive group of Hispanic coaches, making him just the fifth such coach in NFL history.

From 2010 to 2022, he held the positions of offensive quality coach, wide receivers coach, quarterbacks coach, and pass game coordinator.

Despite losing to the Detroit Lions in the playoffs, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers won the NFC South division with a 9-8 record and beat the Philadelphia Eagles in the Wild Card round.
