Betfred Signed Sponsorship Deal with St Leger Festival
UK gambling company Betfred signed a multi-year sponsorship deal with St Leger Festival. Arena Racing Company, the festival organizer, said that Betfred would sponsor three of the five British Classics.
Fred Done, founder of Betfred, said the deal is more than business to the company. He said it is a privilege to be associated with St Leger Festival. Also, he is proud that his company is related to great horses, such as Triple Crown Nijinsky.
According to bookie PPH reports, Betfred will sponsor various supporting races, including Champagne Stakes and Doncaster Cup. ARC CEO Martin Creddunce is happy to welcome Betfred as St Leger Festival’s primary sponsor.
Sponsorship Deal with St Leger Festival
Betfred will take over for Cazoo as the sponsor of the last two runnings of the St Leger festival, which will take place from September 14 to September 17. The first two Classics, the 2,000 and 1,000 Guineas, will be held this weekend at Newmarket and sponsored by Qipco.
The new sponsorship came less than a month after Betfred was named the sponsor of The Oaks and The Derby at Epsom Downs after a three-year agreement with the Jockey Club, another principal racetrack owner in the United Kingdom.
According to gambling software experts, the sponsorship of the St Leger festival will dramatically increase Beftred’s visibility in British horse racing over the next three years, allowing the brand, which was previously a big sponsor of horse racing in the nation, to hasten its return to the sport’s sponsorship top.
