Bengals WR Tee Higgins Will Play on Monday Against the Jaguars

QB Jake Browning received the good news that he will have the full roster of the Cincinnati wide receivers on Monday. According to coach Zac Taylor, Tee Higgins will play against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The wide receiver does not have a designation on the Bengals’ injury report.

According to sports news reports, Higgins suffered the hamstring injury in practice before Week 10. Thus, he missed the previous three games. Of course, a lot has transpired for the Bengals since then, including the season-ending injury to quarterback Joe Burrow’s right wrist on November 16.

Last week, in his first start in the NFL, Browning completed 19 of 26 throws for 227 yards and a 73% completion percentage. However, the Bengals could only score 10 points in a low-scoring game against Pittsburgh. The 27-year-old had a hand in the 16-10 loss with a touchdown pass and an interception.

The 6-foot-4 wide receiver presents a formidable challenge for most opposing cornerbacks, particularly for slot receivers. Higgins has three touchdowns and three27 yards receiving in seven games this season.

A key cog in quarterback Joe Borrow’s wheel, Higgins has joined Ja’Marr Chase and seasoned veteran Tyler Boyd as the triumvirate that has allowed Burrow to shine. Watching how Browning uses those weapons in the upcoming match versus Jacksonville will be interesting.

According to Taylor, Logan Wilson, a key member of Cincinnati’s defense who has been out with an ankle and foot injury, will play Monday night. CB Cam Taylor-Britt sustained an ankle injury this week. Thus, he is out for the next game.

Going into the last stretch of the 2023 season, the Bengals (5-6) cannot afford to lose another game in a row. At the same time, Monday Night Football represents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the Jaguars (8-3) to play at home in prime time and extend their division lead.
